🏗️Overview
The Construction & Joinery Unit provides construction, carpentry, joinery, renovation, and maintenance services to support the Ministry's infrastructure and development activities throughout the Line and Phoenix Islands.
The Unit works on a range of construction and maintenance activities, including building works, carpentry, furniture and joinery production, repairs, renovations, and other technical works required to maintain government facilities and infrastructure.
Through skilled workmanship, proper planning, and adherence to safety and quality standards, the Unit contributes to the development and maintenance of safe, functional, and sustainable public facilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out construction and building works for government facilities.
- Undertake carpentry and joinery works.
- Manufacture and repair doors, windows, furniture, and other timber products.
- Conduct building repairs, renovations, and maintenance.
- Support infrastructure development and improvement projects.
- Conduct site assessments and identify construction requirements.
- Assist with project planning, material estimation, and work scheduling.
- Ensure construction works meet required quality and safety standards.
- Maintain construction tools, equipment, and workshop facilities.
